job overview To promote, solicit and service approximately half of Becker Tree Farm’s existing account base as well as handling daily walk-in wholesale business on the fly. Role and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Primarily responsible for specified in-house accounts, dedicated sales line orders and walk in wholesale customers. · Works with the outside sales (Business developer) and Administrative Sales Assistant to maximize sales and promote healthy customer relationships. · Answers calls, solicits and takes orders, hand selects products, advises admin. · Arranges shipping and coordinates on time arrivals with shipping manager and outside freight providers. · Works with General manager, when necessary to preserve customer relationships. · Obtains certain pertinent timely client information for administrative staff. · Communicates customer shipping and loading preferences. · Works with General manager and Business developer to manage inventory to maximize profitability. · Assists Administrative sales assistant in pursuing accounts receivable, when necessary. · Assist in various marketing activities including local, state, and regional conventions, including occasional overnight travel. Qualifications and Education Requirements · Must be punctual, creative, team oriented & self-motivated. · B.S. degree in business or horticulture preferred. · 5+ years in wholesale nursery sales · Must be able to be onsite, on time, M-F (7-4:30) and when necessary, outside this range. · Clean and valid Florida driver’s license Number of People Supervised · 0-3 Position of Highest Job Supervised · Administrative Sales Associate. Type of supervision given · Verbal and written instruction to Administrative Sales Assistant, and shipping manager. Type of supervision received · Verbal and written instructions from the General Manager& Business Developer. Preferred Skills · Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment. · Professional, courteous, insensitive and able to maintain customer relationships. · Knowledge of south Florida tree species · Working knowledge of the landscape industry · Knowledge of Florida’s Grades and Standards for nursery plants · Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Windows Additional Notes · Daily Driving, walking, bending, sitting (active). · Daily work hours M-F · Occasional lifting to 35 lbs.
